As the famous Latin phrase coined by Julius Caesar goes, Veni, vidi, vici – Christian Norgaard came, saw, conquered the Premier League…and then left.The experienced Dane has signed a two-year deal with Everton, joining from Arsenal in a £7 million transfer.
He arrived at the Emirates Stadium a year ago from Brentford, adding depth to Mikel Arteta’s midfield, but never established himself as a key player. Instead, he featured mainly in the EFL Cup, FA Cup, and the early stages of the Champions League. In total, he made 18 appearances for the Gunners, but only five in the EPL – one of them coming against Crystal Palace on the final matchday, with the title already wrapped up.

Still, he has secured his place in the club’s history as a member of its title-winning squad, despite playing just 99 Premier League minutes all season! With the Toffees, he is expected to enjoy a much bigger role, with David Moyes looking to add experience to his midfield. Norgaard has chosen to wear No. 23 at Hill Dickinson Stadium and has become the fifth Danish player to represent Everton, after Claus Thomsen, Jesper Lindstrom, Lars Jacobsen, and Thomas Gravesen.
