Ever since being drafted in 2024, Bronny James has been inseparable from his father, the great LeBron James. Truth be told, the youngster has never been a key player for the Los Angeles Lakers, making 69 appearances across his first two NBA regular seasons while averaging 2.7 points per game.Still, no one seemed to mind.Last July, however, LeBron joined the Philadelphia 76ers, leaving Bronny behind in California. Coincidence or not, the young guard's problems soon began to mount.##LINKED_NEWS_69738##The new NBA campaign tips off in six days, and pre-season action has been in full swing. Yet Bronny has done little to impress. Across four games, he has scored just 11 points while committing as many as 12 turnovers, prompting Lakers head coach JJ Redick to publicly call him out."I thought he had a really nice September and a good summer with us. I don't think he's played well in the four preseason games, but he's had good practices."##TWITTER_

JJ Redick on Bronny: “I don’t think he’s played well in the four preseason games, but he’s had good practices… Some of it is like the group he’s with; I think that is not necessarily setting him up for success.” https://t.co/6jEhPBhsSS
— NBABase (@TheNBABase) October 14, 2026
##"I mean, again, some of it's just rhythm, some of it's who he's playing with, right? He's played a lot of minutes, especially in the second half of games with our two-way guys," the 42-year-old said via Yahoo Sports.Even before the new season gets underway, it is clear that Bronny is unlikely to see significant playing time, given the competition for backcourt spots from the likes of Luka Doncic, Quentin Grimes, Austin Reaves, Collin Sexton, and others.19.45: (4.65) Lech Poznan (4.35) Leverkusen (1.65)However, Redick's latest comments have added another twist to Bronny's situation, raising questions about his prospects in the purple and gold and whether a move elsewhere could eventually be on the cards.Could a reunion with his dad in Philadelphia be on the horizon?
