In this technology, a tension cable net system supports the roofing membrane.The advanced method combines powerful hydraulic jacks with a network of high strength steel cables, which are fitted as the cable is laid and lifted in phases. This reduces the margin for human error by minimising manual intervention.With this technology, the cost of roofing at Talanta was reduced, as the majority of the work was completed on the ground before being lifted into position. This also conforms with modern health and safety practices aimed at reducing work at height.In addition to requiring less effort, tensile roofing structures have the advantage of being lightweight and visually appealing while often requiring minimal supporting structures, according to FIFA.The use of lightweight, durable tensile membranes made from Teflon-coated fibreglass, combined with PVC-coated polyester used in the canopy, allows increased sunlight transmission to the pitch while requiring fewer supporting structures.
