Harambee Starlets forward Linda Nasimiyu Kihara has completed a move to Moroccan side Phoenix Marrakech ahead of the new season, beginning another chapter in her career.
Kihara confirmed the transfer through her Facebook account, announcing her arrival at the Moroccan club after her spell with Turkish side Soma Zaferspor.“I’m excited to officially announce that I have joined Phoenix Marrakech of Morocco from Soma Zaferspor FC of Turkey.
“A new chapter, a new challenge, and a new opportunity to grow. I’m grateful for everyone who has supported me throughout my journey. I’m ready to give my best and make this chapter count.”Phoenix Marrakech also welcomed the Kenyan forward, expressing their delight at securing her services ahead of the new campaign.“We are delighted to welcome Linda Nasimiyu Kihara to the Phoenix family.

Welcome to Phoenix, Linda!”The move to Morocco comes after a rapid rise for Kihara, who has established herself as one of Kenya’s emerging attacking talents. She previously featured for Ulinzi Starlets, where she played a key role in the club’s successful 2024 FKF Women’s Cup campaign. Kihara scored in the final as Ulinzi edged Kibera Soccer Women 2-1 to lift the trophy.
She subsequently joined Kayole Starlets, where she enjoyed an impressive 2025/26 campaign. The forward scored 10 league goals and provided three assists, with her most notable run coming in December 2025 when she found the net in five consecutive league matches.

Her form earned her a place in the Harambee Starlets setup, with Kihara receiving her maiden senior national-team call-up in late 2025 before featuring in subsequent squads.In August 2026, Kihara moved to Turkey, joining Soma Zaferspor FC. The transfer marked her first move into professional football abroad before her latest switch to Morocco.
Kihara is, however, not the first Kenya international to pursue a career in Turkey. Harambee Starlets forwards Esse Akida and Cynthia Shilwatso previously featured for Turkish giants Beşiktaş, while Vivian Nasaka has also played in the country.
Her move to Phoenix Marrakech now gives the forward another opportunity to develop her career outside Kenya, with the Moroccan club expected to rely on her attacking qualities during the new campaign.Kihara will now link up with her new teammates as Phoenix Marrakech prepare for the start of the Moroccan season.
