KAGC top amateurs take battle for points to NCBA Tea Fields Trophy

NCBA Tea Fields Trophy 2026 is set to tee off on Friday, 2 at the Kericho Golf Club, bringing together a strong field of Kenya’s leading amateur golfers for three days of competitive action through Sunday, 4 October.Download our Mozzart Sport App for more newsKericho forms part of the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) Series, with the competition to be played over 54 holes of stroke play, comprising three rounds of 18 holes. The championship will be decided on gross scores, with a cut after Round Two where the top 33 players and ties will advance to the final round.The tournament carries a Ksh500,000 prize purse, with the overall trophy going to the male player recording the lowest gross score over the three rounds.Fresh from claiming his maiden KAGC Series title at the NCBA Nanyuki Open, Cyprian Bundi travels to Kericho with the confidence of a newly crowned champion and the hope of repeating history. Bundi produced a wire-to-wire victory at Nanyuki on 27th September, carding rounds of 70, 73 and 72 for a one-under-par total of 215, having previously finished runner-up at the same event in 2025.Three Kenyan golfers to feature as Sunshine Development Tour makes West African debutHis latest victory made him the most recent KAGC champion heading into the Tea Fields Trophy. Bundi will, however, face a formidable field that includes a number of players who have already tasted victory on the 2026 KAGC circuit including Alex Mwangi, champion at Diani Beach Masters, Josphat Rono, Malindi Open winner, Elvis Muigua, winner at Railway Invitational, Amos Odongo, Geoffery Karioki and Rafael Leming'ani.
