Kakamega Homeboyz coach Edward Manoah has settled on a new leadership structure as the club continues to assemble its squad ahead of the 2026/27 FKF Premier League season. Manoah has opted to retain midfielder Moses Mudavadi as club captain, with the experienced player set to continue leading the team on the pitch as Homeboyz undergo a significant squad rebuild.
Mudavadi will be supported by a four-man leadership panel, with the assistants expected to serve in equal capacity rather than having a designated vice-captain. Former Gor Mahia assistant captain Geoffrey Okoth has been brought into the leadership group following his move to Homeboyz. His experience is expected to provide an important voice within a squad that has undergone considerable changes during the off-season. New signing Timothy Ndayala and midfielder Glen Masava have also been included in the panel, leaving Manoah with one position still to fill.

Odhiambo had been part of Homeboyz’s leadership structure but left for the reigning Kenyan champions, forcing Manoah to identify another player to complete his preferred five-man group. The decision comes as Homeboyz continue to use their pre-season programme to assess their new-look squad and establish the right combinations ahead of the new campaign. The Kakamega side has endured a mixed run of results during preparations. They had earlier lost 2-0 to AFC Leopards in a high-profile friendly at Bukhungu Stadium, a result that highlighted some of the areas Manoah’s side needed to work on as they integrated their new signings.
