Green Starlets have been putting up with a frustrating run in their derby clashes with sworn rivals Embobut Saints Starlets, with victory and bragging rights proving elusive.Download our Mozzart Sport App for more newsDespite being formed in 2014, Green Starlets admit to having struggled to assert their dominance over Embobut Saints, a relatively young outfit established barely two years ago.##NAJAVA_MECA_9883186##From friendly encounters to competitive fixtures, Green Starlets have consistently found themselves playing second fiddle, a run that has only heightened their desire to finally claim a long-awaited victory over their rivals.Their quest to claim a share of the bragging rights and establish themselves among the fiercest teams in Elgeyo-Marakwet County received a timely boost, last week, when a joint delegation from Mozzart Bet and the Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen (OKM) Foundation visited them.The partners made inroads to the team’s training base in Sitat, where they presented the players with a range of sporting equipment aimed at supporting their ambitions and bringing more talent on board.Through its New Jerseys for New Champions initiative, Mozzart Bet donated 23 full playing kits, two footballs and a goalpost net to the Salim Kiptoo-coached side.Reacting to the donation, midfielder Margaret Murkomen said the support had provided fresh motivation and would fuel their determination to teach Embobut Saints bitter football lessons when the two sides clash later in the week.“The support has given us a big morale boost. We appreciate Mozzart Bet and the OKM Foundation for believing in us. We have struggled against Embobut Saints for a long time, but this time we are determined to change the story. We want to repay the support by giving our best on the pitch and finally getting one over them,” said the central attacking midfielder.Her sentiments were echoed by fellow midfielder Metrine Jepkosgei, who noted that the lack of decent playing kits and FIFA-standard footballs had hampered the team for some time.She, however, expressed optimism that the new equipment would help the side regain its place among the best teams in the county.“We have lacked the support and proper equipment needed to compete at our best, to the extent that we have sometimes found ourselves losing to teams that were formed only recently. That has been frustrating for us, especially given how long we have been together. This support has given us a new sense of belief, and we are determined to use it to turn our fortunes around and compete with the best teams in the county,” she remarked.
