KCB Rugby have announced the departure of their standout youngster Andy Cole Omollo, who is set to relocate to Tenri University after securing an educational scholarship.
Omollo, who has been one of the club’s top performers this season, leaves after a stellar campaign that saw him bag multiple Man of the Match awards and cement his place as a key figure for KCB Rugby Club.
He is scheduled to depart the country on Saturday, 28 March, marking the start of a new chapter that will see him balance academics with high-level rugby in Japan. In a statement, KCB Rugby expressed pride in the milestone, underlining their commitment to developing players beyond the pitch.

Omollo’s journey has been one of steady progression. He first rose to prominence at Chavakali High School before sharpening his game at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST), where his performances earned him a call-up to the Kenya national under-20 rugby union team.

His move to KCB Rugby elevated his career further, with the forward growing into a leader and eventually captaining the Kenya U20 side at the World Rugby U20 Trophy. His development also opened doors to the senior national team, the Kenya national rugby union team, where he featured in competitions such as the Elgon Cup and the Rugby Africa Cup.
The switch to Japan presents both an academic and professional opportunity for the promising forward, offering him a platform to refine his game in one of Asia’s rapidly developing rugby landscapes.
