Harambee Stars midfielder Stanley Wilson had another star performance for Swedish side AIK, as they produced a fine comeback to beat Hammarby 2-1 in a fierce Stockholm Derby at the 3Arena on Sunday, 24 March.
The 19-year-old, who has gained plaudits this season for his versatility, was once again on the mark, producing a winning assist to help his side to a first win since mid-April. Deadlocked at 1-1 inside the final 10 minutes of the game, Wilson, who was deployed as a left-back, danced his way past several opponents in the centre of the field, before chipping a delightful ball in space for Bersant Celina to power home from a tight angle.
The assist was Wilson’s second goal contribution for the Black and Yellow, since his signing in August 2024, and his second this season. Prior to that magic, AIK looked on course for a fourth defeat in six matches, when Ibrahima Breze Fofana scored for Hammarby just three minutes after the break, taking advantage of a loose clearance from the visitors’ defense.
AIK would,however, claw their way back 10 minutes later, when Johan Hove was on the end of a hanging ball, tucking home a powerful finish, following what had been a mazy run from Kevin Filling, down the left wing.
It was from that side that the winner came from for AIK, Wilson making a daring upfront, to cue wild celebrations from the players and crowd, as they claimed derby bragging rights.As per stats provided by Flashscore, the Kenya U20 player had 60 touches in the game, completed 100 per cent of his passes inside the opposing box, and had a total nine progressive carries.

Defensively, the former Kariobangi Sharks playmaker won 67 per cent of his total duels, while winning 25 per cent of his tackles.AIK’s first win since edging Kalmar 1-0 on 19 April saw them move up to ninth on the log with 12 points, while bitter rivals Hammarby remained second with 17.
