We are hoping that for the 29th edition, we will have probably 12 women's teams because we need to have that competition on that end,” Mwangale said.He also challenged the organisers to explore ways of attracting even larger crowds, despite the impressive attendance witnessed during the 28th edition.Andrew Amonde names his all-time Kenya Sevens dream team“In terms of preparations, I think we can do better in terms of attracting even more fans. We have filled the stadium, but there is always room for improvement,” he added.Despite identifying these areas, Mwangale was satisfied with the overall organisation, particularly the match schedule and broadcast coverage, which enabled fans unable to attend the tournament to follow the action from home.“All in all, about how the games have been scheduled, that has gone perfectly. The broadcast has been quality, and I know that even people at home have watched the matches. So, we keep on improving the standards year by year,” he said.##NAJAVA_MECA_10027781##He further described the tournament as a success, citing the strong fan turnout, favourable weather conditions and high level of competition throughout the weekend.“It has been a great experience. The fans filled the stadium, the weather was good, the competition was very stiff, so it was a success through and through,” he noted. The tournament also provided an opportunity to assess the progress of Kenyan rugby, with two local sides reaching the men's final, underlining the growing quality of the domestic game.Brian Tanga names coaches who shaped his trophy-laden career as he hangs bootsAccording to Mwangale, the performance of the Kenyan teams reflected the impact of the local rugby circuit in identifying and developing talent.“Two Kenyan teams in the final show the quality of rugby we have as a country. This means that going forward, we will have even better quality. This is stemming from our local circuit. A lot of boys were identified, and you can see the kind of quality that they are bringing to the competition,” he said.##NAJAVA_MECA_10027761##He was, however, quick to acknowledge the quality of the visiting teams, noting that the tournament featured strong competition from both local and international sides.“Not to take anything away from other competitors, because we had very quality teams competing, but at the end of the day, we had the final say,” Mwangale added. With the 29th edition on the horizon, KRU will be looking to build on the successes of this year's tournament while expanding the women's competition, improving preparations and finding new ways to grow fan engagement.England-based Harambee Stars striker opens up on Benni McCarthy’s man-management skillsKenya Sevens defended their title after seeing off Kenya Morans 24-5 in the closely contested final.
