I’ve been able to perform under pressure on some of the biggest stages in marathon running.”A look at the Chicago Marathon star-studded men’s lineupShould the Kenyan repeat those triumphs, then she will have to do it the hard way, with two-time Chicago winner and former world record holder Brigid Kosgei in the field.Last year’s champion Hawi Feysa from Ethiopia is also capable of a quick time, with her 2:14.57 ranking as the eighth quickest in a Major. Also on the starting line is Tokyo winner Sutume Kebede, who comes in as the third fastest in the women’s field.##NAJAVA_MECA_10017175##“If I’m feeling good and the conditions are right, hopefully I can take advantage of the course and run a fast time,” Lokedi, whose personal best is the 2:17.22 she set while winning the Boston Marathon last year, said. “The course gives you an opportunity to run fast, but for me, the focus is on executing the race well first. I want to stay present, make good decisions, be patient and compete.”From fighting organised crime to championing clean sport: Günter Younger’s unlikely path to WADAOn her training, which she split between her home country and the USA, where she is based, Lokedi added: “We’ve had a good block of training, and I feel like I’ve been able to put in the work we wanted.
