Mozzart Bet fuels Masete FC’s dream as players urge McCarthy to pay scouting visit

Retaining the Embobut-Embolot Ward Gavana wa Raia title is no longer Masete FC’s ultimate ambition.Download our Mozzart Sport App for more newsThe club, founded in 1984, stormed to the men’s football title in the last edition of the tournament, while Embobut Saints claimed the women’s crown. With the fifth edition of the tournament just around the corner, it would be easy to assume that Masete are gearing up to defend their crown and go all the way to the Elgeyo Marakwet County level in pursuit of the ultimate prize.##NAJAVA_MECA_9928328##However, the Jacob Komen-coached side insists that dominating the regional tournament is merely the tip of the iceberg when it comes to its ambitions. What Masete players yearn for most is an opportunity to have Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy, his U20 counterpart Gilbert Selebwa and other national team technical officials attend their training sessions, friendly matches and tournament fixtures.Such exposure, they believe, could give them a chance to showcase their talent, catch the eye of the national team coaches and at least have a handful represent the country in international assignments.Captain Maxwell Losiwa acknowledges that it may be difficult for all national team coaches and members of their respective technical benches to make the long trip to Embobut. But he remains hopeful that he and his teammates will get the chance to audition in front of McCarthy, the celebrated South African tactician.Losiwa made the remarks after leading his teammates in donning the new kits and footballs delivered by gaming giants Mozzart Bet at Maron Grounds. The club received a full set of 23 kits, two footballs and a goalpost net courtesy of New Jerseys for New Champions, an initiative by the firm aimed at supporting and uplifting grassroots football clubs.Maron City’s FKF Premier League dream receives timely boost from Mozzart Bet“We are ambitious as a team, and our dream goes beyond simply competing at the Elgeyo Marakwet level. We want to develop players who can rise through the ranks and eventually represent Kenya in the national teams. We believe Masete has the talent, and with the right exposure and support, our players can reach that level. We invite all our national team coaches to attend our training sessions, friendly and competitive matches. I am sure we will have a few make it to the national team,” said the attacking midfielder.Besides dominating in Elgeyo Marakwet and having familiar faces in the national teams, the club hopes that the regional FKF office will dispatch technical officials to teach the modern officiating rules.Further, they aspire to have some of their retired players enrolled in coaching classes.##NAJAVA_MECA_9932839##“Things are changing a lot in football, and we want our players to be informed rather than learning the hard way during tournaments. We urge FKF to consider sending retired referees to teach us the latest laws of the game. Equally, we pray to see the technical department of FKF introduce coaching classes in our area,” remarked Losiwa.Mozzart Bet's visit extended beyond Masete FC, as representatives from the Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen (OKM) Foundation were also present. The foundation has supported the club in recent times, along with other neighbouring rivals.“On behalf of the team, I sincerely thank Mozzart Bet for donating these uniforms and footballs. Your support means a lot and will motivate our players. We also thank the OKM Foundation for their continued support,” he added.
