When you look at La Liga goascorers list, one name stands out – Raphinha. The Brazilian forward is in top form at the start of the season with 12 goals, and way behind are also familiar faces – Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal with seven apiece. Even if we don’t count the three goals he scored from penalty kicks, the Brazilian still has nine goals. So, the order is somewhat expected, as three best players in La Liga at the moment are on the top of the list. But somehow, there is a fourth one out there, right with Mbappe and Yamal, and he is an African on a loan from France…##TWITTER_

¡¡¡¡YASSIR ZABIRI OTRA VEZ!!!! 7 GOLES EN 8 JORNADAS. 3º A ASISTENCIA DE ÍÑIGO VICENTE. https://t.co/EluDvb6jA5
— Pablo Puente (@SoyPabloPuente) October 11, 2026
##Yassir Zabiri signed for Rennes in February this year from Portuguese club Famalicao as a promising striker. In the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, Zabiri finished as the joint top scorer with five goals, scoring a brace in a 2–0 victory over Argentina in the final. On the grounds of that success, the youngster was called to Morocco’s first team in 2026. Rennes is know as a club which produces top-talents (Dembele, Desire Doue, Doku…) and Zabiri was looking to use his chance, but made just six appearances, all coming off the bench, totaling only 42 minutes on the pitch. So, when newly promoted Rasing Santander called for a loan, he didn’t hesitate.##LINKED_NEWS_69728##Rennes coaches thought he needs more playing time and sanctioned a loan exit, but with a buyout clause, as they see him as a prospect, and so far he proved them right. Being on the same level as Mbappe and Yamal is not an easy achievement, especially if we count in the supporting cast these two stars have in their teams. And if we count in the fact that both Barcelona and Real are playing in three competitions and that Mbappe and Raphina had their shares of injuries (already), Zabiri could be in contention for the best La Liga striker come May 2027.LA LIGA – MATCHDAY 8FridayMalaga – Espanyol 1-1 (0-1)/Nino 90+3 – Zaragoza 13/SaturdayAlaves – Atl.
