La Roja’s future also looks bright, with teenage defender Pau Cubarsi taking home the Young Player Award after an outstanding breakthrough campaign. France captain Kylian Mbappe finished as the tournament’s top scorer with 10 goals, earning the Golden Boot for the second consecutive World Cup. However, the Real Madrid striker was not present to collect the award in New Jersey after Argentina’s defeat to Spain in the showdown.
