The Kenyan duo of Andreas Odhiambo and Paul Osama were in action as their Swedish side – Enköpings SK (ESK) – secured their second successive victory in all competitions on Sunday, 21 June.
Odhiambo and Osama, who were involved in the team’s 2-0 victory over Rågsveds IF in the Swedish Cup last Wednesday, were all part of the starting eleven for the first time in the league, as the hosts beat Umea FC 3-1, to retain fourth place in the Swedish third-tier (Norra).
Enköpings SK took the lead in the 30th minute through a penalty from Hadi Noori, and it would take them till the 59th minute for them to grab a second, which came via midfielder Isak Braholm. Umea, who are seventh on the log, would grab a goal back in the 63rd minute through Robin Hadad. Enköpings added the third goal in the 86th minute, via the aforementioned Noori, who again struck from the spot.
The result marked a sweet and memorable win for Osama, who was making his full debut for Enköpings since joining the club in March. The former Murang’a Seal forward had only come off the bench in six consecutive league matches, but on Sunday, he unlocked new heights in his stay at the club.
Odhiambo, on the other hand, was making a return to league action for the first time since 7 June, following a sketchy run that had seen him miss six of his team’s last eight league matches. His return came on the back of an assist for his side’s opening goal in the cup win on Wednesday.

Elsewhere in Norway, Harambee Stars striker Alfred Scriven featured for 72 minutes as his Bryne FK side beat Asane 1-0, to make it three league wins on the bounce.Scriven, 28, was making his 10th consecutive start for his club, who got their goal via Danish midfielder Nicklas Strunck to move 10th on the log with 16 points from 12 matches.
