Two trophies for PSG in a matter of days?

When the legendary New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was asked after winning his fifth Vince Lombardi Trophy — he eventually finished his career with seven championships — which Super Bowl title was his favorite, he jokingly replied: “The next one.” Luis Enrique seems to be following the same philosophy. He won every possible trophy with Barcelona, failed to make much of an impact as Spain manager, but has left his biggest mark in Paris. He has turned Paris Saint-Germain into a machine that churns out trophies and, when they play with the kind of flair they showed in the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich, seem almost impossible to beat. Over the past two years, there have been very few competitions PSG have entered without winning. Last season, the exception was the Coupe de France, which went north to Lens, a mining city in one of France's poorer regions.BETTING GUIDE: Lens vs PSG, match preview, team news and predictionPowerful PSG have already won their first trophy of the season, beating Aston Villa 2-1 in the European Super Cup five days ago. They have another opportunity tonight to add to their trophy cabinet at the Parc des Princes — the French Super Cup. Their opponents are last season's excellent Lens, who pushed the champions hard for much of the campaign, eventually finished second and won the Coupe de France. The match is being played in Lens at the Bollaert-Delelis Stadium, meaning the hosts will have tremendous support from the stands.PSG means business: Belgian sensation from Ajax has arrived!Enrique has made PSG even stronger this season. He has reshuffled the championship-winning squad, brought in younger players hungry for trophies and increased competition within an already formidable team from the French capital. The club has also operated at a profit, selling expensive players who were either substitutes at the Parc des Princes or had spent time out on loan. Among them were Portuguese forward Goncalo Ramos (Milan, 75 million euros), Randal Kolo Muani (Juventus, 41.2 million) and South Korean Lee Kang-in (Atletico Madrid, 40 million). PSG have brought in star players for significantly less money. Their latest acquisitions include forwards Ferran Torres from Barcelona and Mika Godts from Ajax for 55 million each, as well as Monaco star Maghnes Akliouche for 50 million euros. The already frightening attack has been strengthened further, with Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué and Bradley Barcola — who is reportedly close to the exit door — among the options. The defense has also been reinforced with French international left-back Lucas Digne, signed from Aston Villa. PSG are firing on all cylinders across the pitch. The Shark in Paris! Ferran Torres at the European championsLens, meanwhile, have lost their manager Pierre Sage, who moved to Crystal Palace as a replacement for Oliver Glasner. He has been replaced by young German coach Dino Toppmoller, who favors an attractive, attacking style. Lens' biggest sale was midfielder Mamadou Sangare, who joined Brentford in the Premier League for 48 million, while centre-back Facundo Medina moved to Marseille for 18 million euros. The experienced players who revived their careers at Lens have mostly stayed, with the exception of Allan Saint-Maximin, who joined Charlotte FC in MLS. Odsonne Edouard and captain Florian Thauvin remain at the club. ##EDITORS_CHOICE##There are also some interesting additions, particularly experienced Belgian Thorgan Hazard and Croatian Franjo Ivanovic, who joined on loan from Benfica. While Lens will take on PSG largely with familiar faces, led by Edouard and Thauvin up front, Enrique faces the much more pleasant problem of having an abundance of attacking options. It will be interesting to see which attacking trio he chooses. Five days ago, Akliouche played as the most advanced attacker, with Doue and Kvaratskhelia providing the threat from the wings. Le Parisien reports that Dembélé, the 2025 Ballon d'Or winner, could be given a starting role. Ferran Torres and Mika Godts have only just arrived at the club and are not yet available for selection. Last season, PSG defeated Lens 2-0 in both Ligue 1 meetings.##NAJAVA_MECA_9894228##
