KCB FC will be looking to climb to the top of the FKF Premier League table when they host Posta Rangers in the opening match of Week Three at Police Sacco Stadium on Friday afternoon.
The match, scheduled for 4:00 pm, is the only fixture on Friday, and it gives KCB a chance to move above defending champions Gor Mahia and Mara Sugar, who are also among the leading teams.
KCB have collected four points from their opening two matches, showing a knack for late goals. They opened their campaign with a 2-2 draw against Nairobi United before scoring an 88th-minute winner to beat Mathare United in their second outing.
Another win would take the bankers to seven points, one clear of Gor Mahia, who currently lead the standings with six. KCB would occupy the top spot at least temporarily, with Gor Mahia and Mara Sugar scheduled to play on Saturday.
Posta Rangers, meanwhile, head into the encounter under pressure to get their season back on track after losing their opening two matches. The Mailmen suffered a 1-0 defeat to Shabana in a match in which they were reduced to 10 men before enduring a heavier setback in their second outing, losing 5-1 to Murang’a Seal.

The result leaves Posta without a point and at the bottom of the standings, alongside fellow strugglers Mombasa United and Ulinzi Stars, who have also failed to collect points from their opening matches.
Friday’s encounter therefore presents Posta with an opportunity to register their first win of the campaign and arrest their poor start, while KCB will be keen to maintain their unbeaten run and strengthen their position among the early title contenders.
The two sides shared the spoils in their meetings last season, with KCB winning the first leg 1-0 before Posta Rangers responded with an identical scoreline in the return fixture.
Their recent head-to-head record also points to a closely contested rivalry, with each side winning twice in their last five meetings, while the other encounter ended in a draw.
