Nehemiah Onchiri ready to make his mark at Migori Youth

For Nehemiah Onchiri, returning to Nyanza has brought a familiar feeling, but with a new challenge and a fresh responsibility.The forward is settling into life at Migori Youth after arriving from Mombasa United, where he enjoyed a productive campaign that saw him score 10 goals and play his part in the club's promotion to the FKF Premier League.Download Our MozzartSport App For More NewsRather than dwelling on the move itself, Onchiri is already looking ahead to what he can contribute to his new surroundings, having received a warm welcome from his new teammates, the management and the technical bench.“Migori Youth have welcomed me well. I thank my former club Mombasa United, we worked together well and the experience was nice. Everyone from the management to players and the technical bench,” Onchiri says.“I thank God we did our bit in helping the team gain promotion. It was a huge achievement for us and the entire Mombasa fraternity.”##NAJAVA_MECA_9894249##Onchiri's career has taken him through several clubs in the second tier, including Kisumu All Stars, Samwest Blackboots, Shabana and Mombasa United, as well as Kisumu Hot Stars in the FKF Division One.His spell at Shabana was particularly memorable. Migori Youth have welcomed me well. It's up to us to push and work hard and help the team. I appreciate the efforts they have made to make me feel welcome,” he continues.That sense of belonging appears to have been established quickly. Onchiri says the reception from the club has helped him settle and now wants to repay that faith on the pitch.For a forward, he knows exactly where the biggest responsibility lies.“As a forward, we will be tasked of course with scoring the goals and helping the team gain points, that's my priority right now,” he said.“My new teammates, the management and the fans have made me feel welcome and I feel at home.
